"Read With Me" Challenge Bicycle Winners

Pictured Aliyah Dunson, Amy Lee, Media Specialist, Jennifer Sheriff, Assistant Principal, Sheriff Randy Shirley, Eli Harmon, and SRO Joel Carter

Liberty Elementary School challenged our students to read  with someone for 20 minutes on  25 days during the month of March. That would equal 500 minutes of reading together in one month. We are proud to announce that 165 students accepted the challenge and met the goal. Mr. Jason Swiney, principal of Liberty Elementary, threw an Oreo ice cream party in their honor on Friday, April 20, 2018. Sheriff Randy Shirley and the Stephens County Sheriff's Department also donated 2 bicycles to the media center this year to promote reading in our schools.  All the "Read to Me" challenge student's names were put into a drawing and two winners were chosen. Congratulations to our bicycle winners, Aliyah Dunson and Eli Harmon, and to all the students for their hard work in reading with their families during  the month of March.
